SFDC File Exporter is free to use with a limit of 50 files per export run. Purchase a Pro license to remove this cap entirely and unlock scheduled exports. After purchasing, you will receive a license key by email — activation takes under a minute and requires only an internet connection.

What happens when you reach the 50-file limit?
The export pauses automatically once 50 files have been downloaded. A dialog appears prompting you to upgrade to Pro. No partial or corrupted files are written — you keep everything downloaded up to that point. Upgrading and activating your license removes the cap immediately, without reinstalling the application.

How to Activate Your License

You will need the license key from your purchase confirmation email and an active internet connection. Activation is instant.

Open the Application

Launch SFDC File Exporter. You do not need to be connected to a Salesforce org to activate — you can activate before setting up any connection.

Go to License Settings

Navigate to Settings → License from the main menu, or click the key icon in the application toolbar.

Paste Your License Key

Copy the license key from your purchase confirmation email and paste it into the license key field. Make sure there are no leading or trailing spaces — the key must be pasted exactly as received.

Click Activate

Click Activate. An active internet connection is required. The app contacts the licensing server, validates the key, and confirms activation within seconds. The Pro badge will appear in the toolbar once activation is complete.

Activation is tied to this installation. Once activated, the license persists across application updates — you will not need to re-enter your key after updating SFDC File Exporter on the same machine.
"Unable to validate license" error? Check that your internet connection is active and that the full key was copied without extra spaces. If the key has already been activated on another machine, you must deactivate the old installation first — contact support to request a transfer.

Transferring Your License

Each license key activates on a single installation at a time. If you are moving to a new machine — or reinstalling your operating system — you need to deactivate the existing installation before activating on the new one.

To request a license deactivation, contact our support team with your license key and a brief note explaining the transfer. We deactivate the old installation manually and confirm by reply, typically within one business day. Once confirmed, you can activate on the new machine using the same key.

If your old machine is no longer accessible (hardware failure, lost device), include that in your support request — we can deactivate it remotely without requiring any action on the old installation.

Enterprise & Multi-Seat Licensing

Standard licenses cover a single installation. If your team needs SFDC File Exporter running on multiple machines simultaneously — for example, several admins each running their own instance, or a deployment across multiple workstations — multi-seat licensing is available.

Multi-seat licenses are priced per seat and managed through a single account, making it straightforward to add or remove activations as your team changes.
