Security & Privacy

No. SFDC File Exporter is a desktop application. It connects directly from your machine to Salesforce's API. All file downloads go straight to your local drive — RASPSYS LLP's infrastructure is not in the data path at any point.

The app uses Salesforce's standard OAuth 2.0 username-password flow. Your password is used in-memory only to obtain a session token directly from Salesforce. It is discarded immediately after. No password is ever stored on disk or transmitted to RASPSYS LLP.

No telemetry, analytics, or usage data is collected. The application operates entirely within your machine and network. The only outbound connection to RASPSYS LLP is the one-time license key validation request at startup, which transmits only the license key.

Yes. You can contact us to request detailed security documentation for your IT team. Network monitoring will show connections only to Salesforce API endpoints and our licensing server. We're happy to answer security review questions.

Compatibility

SFDC File Exporter supports all four native Salesforce file storage types: Files (ContentDocument/ContentVersion), Attachments (legacy Attachment object), Documents (Document object), and Static Resources.

Yes. The application supports both production orgs and all sandbox types (Full, Partial, Developer, Developer Pro). Select the correct environment type in the login screen before authenticating.

Any Salesforce edition that provides API access: Enterprise, Unlimited, Developer, and Professional with API add-on. Essentials and Group editions do not include API access and are not compatible.

A System Admin profile will always work. Custom profiles also work provided they have: API Enabled permission, read access to the file objects being exported, and read access on related parent records. Consult your Salesforce admin to confirm permissions.

Yes! SFDC File Exporter is available for Windows (10 and 11, 64-bit), macOS, and Linux. Download the installer for your platform from the Download page.

Features & Functionality

Yes. SFDC File Exporter is a completely standalone application. You do not need to install or configure Salesforce Data Loader. The two tools serve different purposes — Data Loader is for record data (CSV), while SFDC File Exporter is specifically for file binary content.

No artificial file size limits are imposed by SFDC File Exporter. Files are downloaded in whatever format and size they exist in Salesforce. Practical limits are your disk space and Salesforce's own API governor limits (which apply per org per day).

Yes. The object-specific export supports any Salesforce standard or custom object that has file attachments. You can specify any object API name in the object field.

The application tracks progress during a session. If an export is interrupted (e.g., by a network issue), it can be restarted and files already downloaded won't be re-downloaded if they exist in the target folder. Full resume functionality from a previous session is on our roadmap.

Yes. SFDC File Exporter can extract content from any rich text area field on any Salesforce object and export it as a formatted PDF, preserving HTML formatting, inline images, and layout. You can select which field to export and apply record-level filters. See the Rich Text Fields guide for step-by-step instructions.

Yes. Both classic Notes (Note object) and Enhanced Notes (ContentNote object) are fully supported. You can export them in TXT, PDF, DOC, or Excel format. Enhanced Notes retain full formatting when exported as PDF. See the Notes & Enhanced Notes guide.

Yes. The built-in Scheduler lets you create recurring export jobs that run automatically on a daily, weekly, or custom cron schedule — no manual intervention needed. Jobs run in the background and results appear in the Job History tab with full logs. See the Scheduled Exports guide.

Yes. The CSV Export mode lets you upload a CSV containing Salesforce record IDs, and the application downloads all files attached to those exact records. This is ideal when you have a pre-filtered list from a Salesforce report or a Data Loader export. See the Export from CSV guide.

Licensing

Every plan is a one-time purchase. You receive a license key valid for the duration of your chosen plan. There is no automatic renewal.

Individual plans are licensed for a single machine. The Agency plan supports up to 5 machine installations. To transfer a license to a new machine, contact support.

When your license expires, you can renew at any time to restore full access. No data is lost.
